Learn What Our Alzheimer’s Disease Assistance Program Offers
Caregivers who need a break to do errands, have an appointment or another need can benefit from either in-home and community adult day care respite care services. We offer the services of a private home health aide for up to three hours a week for a maximum of nine hours a month for in-home care. You can also choose up to three days per month at an adult day health center at Massachusetts sites in Attleboro, Mansfield, Norwood and Taunton.
Talking with others who understand what it is like to be a caregiver can be very healing and validating. We invite you to join one of our virtual monthly caregiver support groups, which are free and open to the public. These groups offer a safe and supportive space for sharing and learning together. Our trained and knowledgeable staff can help coordinate care as you prepare for and cope with each stage of your loved one’s condition. We provide referrals along with advice and emotional support as needed.
We teach about home safety, how dementia progresses and tips for communicating with a loved one at different stages of the illness. Our staff reaches out regularly by phone to stay informed about changes in your loved one’s condition and evaluate their needs, as well as yours.
“I don’t know what I would have done if I had not had someone who would come a few hours to stay with my wife. It gave me a chance to run errands, pick up groceries and I even got my haircut.” - Family caregiver
